Safecity Training Academy is
proud to have been commissioned by the NSW Department of
Education and Training to deliver this important project.
Under this project Safecity
will conduct training for applicants wishing to obtain the NSW
Conditional Security Licence Class 1A, 1B, 1C. The course
has been designed to include Olympic awareness competencies.
The course is funded by the
NSW Department of Education and Training. An administration
fee of $93 applies. Eligible
persons will not have
to pay the administration fee.
Safecity's course is nationally
recognised under the Australian Recognition Framework.

The following are
grounds
for refusing a security licence
application.
A
person would be deemed unsuitable if:
- has, within the period of 10 years
before the application for the licence was made, been convicted
in New South Wales or elsewhere of an offence prescribed by the
regulations, whether or not the offence is an offence under New
South Wales law, or
- has, within the period of 5 years
before the application for the licence was made, been found guilty
(but with no conviction recorded) by a court in New South Wales
or elsewhere of an offence prescribed by the regulations. whether
or not the offence is an offence under New South Wales law, or
- has, within the period of 10 years
before the application for the licence was made, been removed
or dismissed from the Police Service of New South Wales or from
the Police Force of any other jurisdiction (whether in Australia
or overseas).
As a guide the following
description of offences should be noted:
- Any offence relating to the possession
or use of firearms or a weapon
- Any offence relating to prohibited
drugs as defined in the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act, 1985
(includes offences for possession or smoking marijuana)
- Any offence involving assault as
follows:
- a) where, in the last 10 years,
a conviction is recorded and imprisonment, or a fine of $200.00
or more, or both has been imposed
- b) where, in the last 5 years,
you have been found guilty but no conviction was recorded, and
the Commissioner is of the opinion that this was a serious assault
offence (if there is any doubt, a pre training check should be
forwarded for all assault matters for which there has been police
involvement)
- Any offence involving fraud,
dishonesty or stealing
- Any offence involving robbery
Further information relating
to Master Licence holders and former police officers or government
law enforcement or armed forces.
- In the case of Master licences only,
offences involving industrial relations matters, (an offence
under the Industrial Relations Act 1996, including the contravention
of a State industrial instrument, or under any similar law of
any other Australian jurisdiction, but only if a total of a least
5 such offences have been committed by the applicant during any
period of 2 years).
- Further, if an applicant has been
removed or dismissed from the Police Services of NSW or from
the Police Force of any other jurisdiction within the last ten
years, a pre-training criminal history check is required.
