• Applicants of security licenses in NSW

• all applicants to the 91190NSW Certificate I in Security Operations (Pre-Licence) must undertake a Pre-training Criminal History Check conducted by the NSW Police Security Industry Registry.   This must take place at least three weeks prior to commencing the program.
   

• please realise that you will not be able to attend the course until we have been advised by the NSW Police Security Industry Registry that you are eligible for this security training.
   

• the application form must be lodged with your instructor three weeks before attending the security course.  Please do not send these forms to the NSW Police Security Industry Registry as they will not be processed.
   

• criminal record checks for former and serving members of police will also be sent to Internal Affairs.
   

• criminal record checks that need to be sent interstate or to Internal Affairs may be delayed in processing time (between 6 to 12 weeks).
   

• in the State of NSW, only Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents and New Zealand citizens may apply for a security licence.

It is also important to realise that undertaking this course does not authorise you to work or perform duties as a security guard.  In Australia, only licensed security officers may perform security work.

Once you have obtained your qualification, you will be required to apply for a security licence.  You must not commence work until you have physically received the licence.
