Enrol is all the units of competency you require and obtain a Statement of Attainment for each unit you complete.

When you complete all these units you will receive the Certificate II in Security.

Workplace Senior First Aid Course

All hotel security and loss prevention officers should be trained in First Aid. We conduct a Workplace Senior First Aid Course.  The NSW WorkCover registration number for this course is FA9992.

This course saves you time and money. Study at home for two days and practise in the classroom for one day with a qualified instructor. Our Course Director for first aid training is a qualified Australian Medical Doctor who has received training in Emergency Medicine and First Aid.

Learn the essential principles of communication skills, Occupation Health and Safety, dealing with persons of non-English speaking background, etiquette, loss prevention and protection of premises and persons.

Study techniques for the reduction of pilfering and shrinkage. Includes laws governing the sale of alcohol.
 
 

Bomb Threats

Know what to do and say during a threat. Most hotel security staff are likely to be exposed to a bomb threat call during their career. This unit helps hotel security and management staff to respond to such emergencies.
 

Searching and use of scanners

The use of scanners in public places is becoming increasingly popular. Hotel security officers must be aware of the legal implications involving searching. Practise searching using modern equipment.
 

Protection of enclosed lands

Hotel security are often required to invoke this Act to prevent access to problem persons. This course teaches you how to deal with trespassers in a lawful and professional manner. Role plays and case scenarios are hotel security specific.
 

Use of Force

Use of force in a customer oriented environment is a delicate issue. At times, it may be necessary for you to use force to protect patrons and guests. Law suits from 'professionals' who trick hotel security to 'use excessive force' are increasing. The costs of defending are high and the hotel reputation often suffers long term damage. Learn the rules that govern this topic.
 

Arrest

Study all the legal requirements about conducting an arrest. Avoid disastrous law suits and criminal charges by studying this important subject.

Modern hotel security involves extensive use of electronic equipment. Our students achieve competency in the use of basic office equipment, computers and radios. They also learn the principles of CCTV equipment and software.
 

Court Procedures

Hotel security staff may be require to attend court proceedings as police witnesses or to provide evidence for their own defence. Courts can be intimidating places--we walk you there. Through case scenarios and study material notes you will soon realise that there are certain protocols you must follow.
