NSW Security Industry Instructor Courses 

A message from our Managing Director Alexander Wilon JP PhD 

This message is for all those ethical and professional security industry educators who have encouraged me during the preparation of this important project.  

Your support and encouragement has inspired me to continue pursuing the production and establishment of a truly Australian course in defensive tactics for Australian professional security providers.  We have now set a standard for defensive tactics programs for professional Australian security industry providers.

Firstly, a note of thanks to my wonderful staff and my good friend Fred Schwetz for their generosity and support.  Also many thanks to those of you who have been patiently waiting for Safecity's course to be approved in NSW.

A note of appreciation to the new  executives of the NSW Police  Firearms Registry for the courtesy and professionalism they have shown us during the past 18 months.   The appointment of a new director marks the beginning of desperately  needed changes towards best practice in customer relations for the NSW Police Firearms Registry.  

At Safecity we are conscious of the enormous responsibility which comes with this appointment.  We are aware that the NSW Police, the community, and members of the security industry now expect us to provide competent, ethical and professional defensive tactics instructors.  

To achieve best practice, Safecity has put in place a quality assurance program aimed at ensuring compliance with course guidelines, course conduct and safety regulations.  

We realise that, during the initial stages, Quality Assurance will face a formidable challenge in achieving these objectives--but achieve them we will. 

We strongly encourage newcomers to enter our industry.  If you enjoy helping others achieve their goals, have considerable experience in the use of firearms and a desire to achieve nationally recognised  qualifications in adult education--please enrol in our course.  The security industry desperately needs you.  Women and people from culturally diverse backgrounds are also particularly encouraged to enrol.

Existing instructors who are willing to work with Safecity towards the improvement of standards in our industry, who are able to adopt new standards and are willing to cooperate with Quality Assurance will be warmly welcomed.  

For our part, we assure you that Safecity has no intention of conducting the disgraceful "cattle style" training programs you have witnessed in the past.  We have already proven this fact in Victoria and the ACT. 

Your Safecity's training delivery staff are professional, ethical instructors who have embraced the new competency based training model of education.  There is no room at Safecity for egomaniacal, abusive and ill tempered trainers.  

All Safecity's courses from the Certificate II in Security up to the coveted Diploma qualifications are conducted in a friendly, supportive and constructive environment.

We firmly believe in Australian ingenuity and expertise.  While our competitors are busy importing foreign courses--Safecity exports.
