Statement
Safecity requests evaluation
on every course it provides through each instructor that provides training.
Safecity uses the
information that has been returned to make improvements to the quality of
service, training and products. Information can also be used to help improve
the performance of Safecity's staff, instructors and the procedures they
follow.
Safecity regards all
feedback information given in such evaluations as strictly confidential. All
issues raised from the feedback will be handled in the strictest confidence.

Safecity encourages
suggestions, questions, complaints, and comments (positive and negative

participants, customers etc.). This will assist Safecity in developing and

Policy Statement
for RPL/RCC
RPL (Recognition of Prior
Learning) and RCC (Recognition of Current Competency) are the terms used to
describe the assessment and recognition of the skills a person may already
have to obtain a given unit of competency. RPL/RCC are designed to enable
skills that have been learned or acquired earlier to be recognised.
This service is offered by
Safecity and is available to all applicants for our courses.
The process is as follows:
Ask Safecity for an RPL
kit. Forward payment and identification with the application.
When you receive the RPL
kit, read the information provided carefully. It may answer many of your
questions.
If you have any other
questions about how to complete the RPL kit, please contact us.
Complete the RPL kit and
attach all relevant evidence.
Send the RPL kit back to
Safecity.
You will need to complete
an interview with Safecity. This is the RCC component that will make sure
that the evidence you have provided in the RPL kit can be observed as
skills and knowledge that you currently possess.
After successful completion
of the process, a Statement of Attainment will be awarded to you covering
the units of competency in which you were assessed as being competent.
If you were unsuccessful in
obtaining RPL/RCC, arrangements and options will be given to you. The cost
of the assessment process will be put toward any course that you may need to

Policy Statement on
Equity, Access and Participation
Safecity is committed to
supplying services to all persons equally without discrimination or
vilification.
Safecity conducts all services
in a fair, ethical and professional manner.
Any entry requirements or
prerequisites (for example age, literacy and numeracy skills) are the result
of legislative or training package requirements for the course being offered,
or are directly related to the total skills and competency requirements of the
vocational choice (for example, report writing is an essential competency for
a security officer, so written English skills must be of at least year 10
standard).
Learning styles of students
are accommodated by flexible delivery strategies, as well as direct one-to-one
support and assistance from the instructor or assistant instructor (if
necessary).
Counselling, literacy and
numeracy support services and other specialized coaching or instruction
personnel are available for either direct, telephone or On-Line support

Policy
Statement on Flexible Learning
All courses are developed by
professional and qualified trainers either by customization of a relevant
training package or conforming to competency standards where no relevant
training package exists.
All courses conducted by
Safecity are implemented by trained and qualified instructors.
Safecity employs a range of
delivery modes of course material, including lectures, tutorials, discussions,
participant-led seminars, private study, supervised role-plays, and
multi-media delivery of material.
Other delivery modes are being
proposed or developed, such as Internet (On-Line) delivery and tutorial,
On-Line conferencing, and the development of workshops.
The participant to instructor
ratio is low (on average between 1:8 and 1:10) so that the mode of delivery
can be altered, giving the Training Delivery Staff greater flexibility, and
therefore greater responsiveness to the changing needs of a group of learners.
Assessment Policy

Assessment of the competencies
is conducted throughout the training or assessment program.
All levels of knowledge are
taken into account.
The basic assessment tool is a
written assessment for each module.
If, however, the mode is not
suitable for course participants, then other modes are implemented to assess
the persons knowledge with regards to that particular aspect of competency. An
example is where a person continues to have 'mental blocks' when in a written
assessment situation, but can verbally display competency, then the verbal
discussion is noted on the assessment tool and rated accordingly.
The knowledge required to
fulfill the requirements for each competency is outlined clearly in the
manual, and on assessment answer guideline sheets that are provided to all TDS
with assessment tools. This leaves the assessor in no doubt as to what a
satisfactory performance entails.
All assessments are reviewed
by an impartial second Trainer/Assessor staff member when they are received by
the Head Office. They are reviewed and recalculated if necessary.
Attendance at the class is
at the discretion of the instructor or Safecity's Quality Assurance.
If, through no fault of your
own, you are unable to successfully complete any component of the course,
you will be enrolled in the relevant component of the next course free of
charge.
If a candidate's behaviour,
attitude or actions are considered inappropriate or distracting to other
candidates, the person may be required to leave and may be dismissed from
the course. In such a case, Safecity (at its discretion) may refund part of
the fee.
You are expected to arrive
at the class well groomed and neatly clothed.
Candidates who attend
classes under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be dismissed from the
course.
We encourage your active,
constructive and responsible participation in the course. Asking questions
is an essential part of learning; however, we ask you to keep your questions
relevant to the material you are studying.
Your instructor will give
you ample opportunity to ask questions and will assign special times for the
class to do so.
If a question arises in your
mind during a lecture -- write it down. Generally you will find that your
questions will be explained as the lecture progresses. If it is not, make
sure to ask the question at the first opportunity provided by your
